Our Favourite Proposal Ideas & Places

You’ve gone through the thought process, figured out the budgeting and asked for permission. It’s time for the big moment, to get down on one knee and ask the life-altering question to your partner. You can’t take any chances and it must go perfectly so here you are. Great place to be for all tips and tricks regarding weddings and here at Iceberg Media, we’ll never let you down. Let’s dive down under (pun intended) and figure out how you’re going to go about proposing!

Beachside Serenade

Do you and your partner fancy a little ocean breeze? Why not plan a romantic beach proposal? As Australia starts its slow and brutal descent to summer, it’s the perfect weather and opportunity for a leisure stroll along the shoreline as you nervously wait for the sun to make its descent to get down on one knee and pop the question. If you’re getting friends or family to help film or photograph the special moment, just ensure they’ve scanned the area for the best angle to eliminate disturbances such as sun glares or strangers walking by etc.

Scenic Hike

If there’s anything Australia's known for, it’s got to be for our stunning landscape. With a variety of trails near Perth, it’s the perfect location for couples who love the outdoors and wish for a discreet proposal rather than a location steaming with people. The combination of the rhythmic sounds of nature's orchestra and the crystal clear waterfalls glistening in sunlight, it’s the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable proposal. Here are a few recommendations:

Summer: Marrinup Falls

Autumn: Eagle View Walk Trail / Mount Cooke, Bibbulmun Track

Winter: Kitty’s Gorge / Numbat Trail

Spring: Rocky Pool Walk Trail

Hot Air Balloon Ride

People might say that Western Australia is the land of retirement but do they have a hot air balloon? Exactly. Located just 90 minutes away from Perth lies Northam, Western Australia. Experience and discover Western Australia from a whole new perspective as you float over the rural landscape alongside your partner followed by breakfast & champagne. Pair that with a ring in the air and there you go, perfect day! Not many people get to say they’ve given a ring on one knee above Perth, not even God, so what are you waiting for? Rise above (pun intended) and get that ring on a finger!

Surprise Party

Who doesn’t love surprises? If your partner doesn’t, take it from us and leave, that’s a red flag if we’ve ever seen one.

Plan a surprise engagement party with close friends and family and get your partner to the party location under the pretence of a friend’s surprise birthday party or surprise gender reveal and before you know it, you’ll have them wrapped around your finger all dressed up ready to be the one surprised.

Movie Night

Prefer the private intimate space of your home? No worries! Play your favourite film and relax and enjoy as you nervously wait for the right moment to pause the movie and propose with a heartfelt speech. Best pair the movie with their favourite snacks or a home cooked meal before the movie. If you’re even more adventurous, book out the entire cinema just as one of our clients did and have the videographers and photographers pose as strangers before popping the big question! Trust me when we say your partner will never forget this moment.

Stargazing

Don’t you love it when nature does what it does best? Australia offers some of the best stargazing opportunities and Perth has no shortage of places to go to just for that! Surrounded by areas full of lakes , lookouts and open spaces, there are a number of places just a few hours away from Perth to head to for a proposal under the twinkling night sky.

The Pinnacles Desert

Destination Proposal

What’s more romantic than surprising your partner with a surprise trip to their dream destination and then surprising them even more by adding a ring to the equation? Definitely one for the books, your partner will be reliving this moment for years to come and we assure you your partner will be bragging about this moment to everyone she or he knows, possibly even strangers. If you are thinking of this, don’t rush into it and take your time preparing for this big occasion.

Definitely not necessary but if your bank account is starting to feel a little too full, go for it!

Remember, the most important thing is to make it personal and meaningful to your relationship. Tailor the proposal to your partner's interests and preferences, and you're sure to create a moment that you'll both cherish forever. Good luck, and may your proposal be as amazing as your love! Happy Proposals!
