Indoor vs. Outdoor Weddings

Deciding between the lush greenery an outdoor wedding provides and the modern aesthetic an indoor wedding provides, it’s difficult isn’t it? It’s similar to choosing between black and white, both are equally as appealing making it difficult to decide and commit. Let’s go through the pros and cons for each, shall we?

Outdoor

Cons

#1: Weather…

We can all surely agree that weather is the main enemy when it comes to outdoor weddings. Who wants their wedding ruined by rain or strong winds? Here at Iceberg we work wonders but there’s only so much we can do, so do keep in mind weather is out of anyone’s control!

#2: Pollution

Not only does pollution come in the form of the weather but also from noise! A videographer’s worst enemy… Outdoor weddings are prone to noise from all sorts of things, traffic or construction, you name it! So if money allows, have your wedding on an island or somewhere secluded to ensure your best day isn’t ruined.

#3: Limited Amenities

How many times have you wished to relieve yourself outside? In that case, make sure you’re equipped with diapers! Other amenities that may not be readily available include a dance floor or sheltered areas in the event of cooler weather.

Pros

#1: Gorgeous Backdrop

Mother nature is doing so much for the world and for FREE? By having a wedding outdoors, not only are you showing your appreciation for mother nature but you’ll get the most stunning backdrops that will make your wedding even more unforgettable.

#2: Spacious

Mother nature must love working out because all her areas are HUGE. With parks, wineries and national landscapes offering unlimited space, it’s hard to say no! Not only can you accomodate an equally huge guest list but also have room for activities!

#3: Casual Atmosphere

Outdoor weddings are typically on the more casual side, with birds and insects so rudely inviting themselves, jokes! Take for example a beach wedding, everyone typically finds themselves in the water with their hair down ready to party and honestly, we love it! The vibes are immaculate and the pictures and videos always turn out so fun and great.

Indoor

Cons

#1: Limited Space

Space will always be an issue in a confined area which means couples will have to restrict their numbers to accommodate their chosen location. This a big problem if you are looking to invite big numbers.

#2: Lighting

Indoor venues are bound to cause issues with lighting due to its enclosed environment so do keep in mind natural lighting may not come as naturally as it would outdoors (pun intended).

#3: Cost

Indoor venues are typically on the pricier side so it depends on what type of vibe you are looking for.

Pros

#1: Weather Control

With walls made of steel, indoor wedding venues are free from disturbance of any kind. Be it wind, sand or rain, indoor weddings ensure that these issues are not a problem.

#2: Facilities

Other facilities are typically included such as bathrooms, changing rooms or even party rooms which ensure clients get the most out of their money.

#3: Customisable Decorations

As a blank canvas, couples can go wild with what they’d like the venue to look like and decorate it to their hearts’ desires.

Whatever the decision is, both indoor and outdoor weddings are stunning in their own ways so go for what your heart desires and have an amazing day and night ;)
