The Wedding of Tika & Michael
Michael singing, “Looks like we made it, look how far we’ve come my baby”.
Also Michael, “I reckon she wrote that, so I’d have to sing it knowing I would sing it, and I did”. If that’s not true love, we don’t know what is.
December unveiled its radiant splendour, ushering in the essence of summer as the sun cast its golden embrace upon the world. Nature also responded in a vibrant crescendo of hues, adorning the surroundings with luscious greenery. Against this picturesque backdrop, it was the perfect day for Tika and Michael to enter their newly married life together. Let’s pan down to Tika, who is situated in Bickley airbnb getting all ready for her big day! At 7 am, everyone in the bridal party was up bright and early, just in time for Angie Soo to come in and work her magic on everyone to take away the sleeping faces and turn them into beauties! Specialising in eye enhancement and natural makeup, Angie professionally brightened up everyone’s complexion for the day without taking away their special and unique features. With her hair up in a romantic low chignon, Tika was only a few steps away from looking like the perfect bride! Queue: the wedding dress!
Thanks to the help of Dion for Brides, Tika was fitted into a beautiful A-line lace gown which showed off her elegant neckline and elongated her slender frame. With heels from Forever Soles and jewellery from Tiffany Duliege Studio, Tika was all dressed up and ready! Of course, Tika did not forget everyone by her side! Her beautiful trio of bridesmaids and mother were all glammed up thanks to Angie and wore dresses courtesy of One Palm Studio. Last but not least, the final look! It comes as no surprise that her bridesmaids and parents were too stunned to speak but no words were needed to express all their love for Tika.
Back in Core Cider, Michael and his mates are cheerfully taking their time to get ready as they know they’ll take half the time of the bridal party. However, that meant their morning was busy with packing duties and we would say that’s a pretty fair trade! 11.30 am came and it was time for them to get ready in their suits and footwear from Tony Barlow and we must say, they didn’t look too shabby. They must have felt left out because they started lint rolling every single surface area possible and we mean EVERY single surface, from the floor to Michael’s shiny buzzed head. Moving along, Michael and his groomsmen obviously had to get their photos taken and after a few shots, they definitely were feeling like celebrities and we don’t blame them! As photographers, we make everyone feel like they’re being bombarded by paparazzi (so call us if you wish to feel the same!).
Something special that greeted guests was a little table filled with glasses of sand to fill up a little box for Tika and Michael to ultimately bring home as a little souvenir to remember their special day. This served as an opportunity for guests to get their hands dirty but also make them feel included which was a big theme for the day (more to come!). Adorned with flowers of every colour possible, Dragonfly Ponds at Core Cider was absolutely transformed by Miller Rose Botanic and it was starting to feel like a true wonderland. Before the ceremony started, every guest was given a handful of confetti in preparation for the couple’s walk out of the aisle. As Alana Fay started playing, the bridesmaids and groomsmen slowly made their way in and lo and behold, Tika entered in all her glory causing a few sneaky tears from Michael. To make sure he stopped crying, Tika and Michael played rock paper scissors to decide who would be saying their vows first and honestly, we vibe with that. Before they ended the ceremony with the exchange of rings, the couple gave each and every guest a chance to touch their rings and essentially bless them with happiness and joy. With their vows said and marriage papers signed, Tika and Michael were greeted with a shower of confetti as they walked out. Just to ensure Tika lived out her Princess moments, Michael dipped her so low and sealed everything with a sweet little kiss (thank god for Tika’s flexibility).
Now we all know the drill, you can’t leave the venue till photos are taken and that’s exactly what happened! Amidst the scenic charm of Core Cider's Dragonfly ponds, the vibrant canvas of luscious greenery served as the perfect backdrop for a tapestry of unforgettable moments. Against this natural masterpiece, the lush surroundings created an idyllic setting for capturing the essence of Tika and Michael’s love story. With a little bridge centred around the garden, it truly felt like they were stepping into a fairytale wedding just like the movie Enchanted (don’t tell me you have not watched it!).
With the reception conveniently located in the terrace area of Core Cider, it was easy peasy transitioning to the reception venue where the groom and bridal party entered enthusiastically as they danced in their sunnies, thank you Adrian Wilson for the music. It came as no surprise that they cut into their stunning two-tiered cake by ThisDarkCherry before continuing on with the night-long festivities.
“You do spend your entire time gossiping with ChatGPT so I was pleasantly surprised when you introduced Tika and she was real!”
Never let your friends make speeches without fully preparing yourself for a bit of good old roasting because Michael was roasted HARD. The speeches were further continued by their friends and family members before continuing to the first dance and couple dance. Of course, it’s not a wedding without game night so before the night ended everyone indulged in a little game night before ending the night with even more photos! What’s a wedding without a photographer am I right?
Special thanks to Jennifer Clarke from Core Cider, Over the Moon Events and Wedding and Events by Bella for the coordination of the wedding and the furniture and decorations for both the reception and ceremony.
We thank Tika and Michael for entrusting us to capture their stunning day.
